    Taking possession of property worth at least 1 million Dirhams can make you eligible for a 2-year visa.

    Freehold refers to outright ownership, while leasehold refers to a long-term lease of 10-99 years. Leasehold property cannot be purchased outright.

    Off-plan property refers to projects under construction in Dubai.

    DLD stands for Dubai Land Department.

    This is the administrative charge levied by the primary developer when ownership of property is transferred from one party to another.

    Not every project under construction can be mortgaged in Dubai. On the other hand, unlike other parts of the world, off-plan properties may be mortgaged in Dubai.

    Dubai property owners who reside in other countries do not need to pay taxes in Dubai. There may be exemptions to this.
